Hong Kong's Better Living Expo Back with More Lifestyle Items, Services
HKTDC (ACN Newswire)
2012-07-12

Hong Kong, July 12, 2012 - ( ACN Newswire ) - Hong Kong's newest trade and public fair, the Better Living Expo, will return 20-22 July with an expanded offering of lifestyle products and services. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Paper Communication Exhibition Services (PCES), the show at AsiaWorld-Expo will welcome more than 270 exhibitors.

Varied Themes

HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau said the Expo returns for its second edition with new features and major brands from around the world. Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Mr Chau said the four main zones at the Expo include those focused on beauty, well-being & senior products; hobbies and learning; value shopping; and a new area dedicated to cooking and dining.

"The Better Living Expo will also introduce three special highlights, including the Designer Corner, Fine Wine Galleria and Handicraft Corner," said Mr Chau. "These new features will offer better sourcing options for trade visitors and some intriguing ideas for members of the public." Mr Chau added that the organisers are pleased to welcome well-known, quality local brands, including A-Fontane, German Pool, Kinox and Tung Fong Hung.

PCES Managing Director Eddie Leung said the second edition of the Expo will have something to keep all visitors engaged and entertained. "This year, the Expo will feature more than 60 entertaining events, including live radio shows, exhibits of ancient and modern activities ranging from Tai Chi to Frisbee, and pastimes such as painting and musical performance," he said.

Magic and Martial Arts

The organisers said the Expo was well received last year, and that the 2012 edition will again target local as well as mainland markets in order to create business opportunities. The press conference also outlined a schedule of Expo seminars on topics ranging from organic food and healthy eating, to ways of setting up an e-business or planning overseas travel. Public events at the Expo will include demonstrations of fencing and mountaineering skills, as well as methods of pu'er tea drinking, applying tattoos and balloon twisting. Visitors will also be entertained by illusionists from Eddy Au's Magic and "Magicman" Marvin Lam, and model car "drift" racing which was popular last year.

Trendsetting Talent

Hong Kong has a growing reputation as Asia's lifestyle trendsetter, with a particular influence on the Chinese mainland's consumer markets. Growing demand for trendy and stylish products and services that improve the quality of life makes the Expo an ideal platform for exhibitors to introduce new products to the region. The three-day public and trade fair also provides instant consumer feedback for exhibitors.

The Better Living Expo will be held concurrently with the Hong Kong Book Fair, which takes place 18-24 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. A free shuttle bus service will be provided so visitors can easily travel between the two venues.
