2012-06-22 RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, June 22, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- AfDB (http://www.afdb.org) would like to share with you the link of the press conference given yesterday evening in Rio by the president of the African Development Bank Donald Kaberuka on the outcomes of Rio+20 for Africa.
His main areas of focus were:
• Strong connection between G20 and Rio+20
• The important concept of a transition, country specific
• Commendation of African countries coming forward with their own green plans
• Food security
• Africa has to learn from Brazil
• Africa's Natural capital (see report Africa Ecological Footprint report; http://j.mp/MJDCnT)
• Green economy is an African issue (not a foreign agenda)
• But the failure of climate finance is a huge disappointment
