CyberAgent Makes "Pitapat" a Subsidiary through Third Party Allocation of New Shares

2012-05-01 Tokyo, May 1, 2012 - ( JCN Newswire ) - CyberAgent, Inc. (TOKYO:4751), a Tokyo-based leader in Internet services, has announced that Pitapat, Inc. (the former Facematch, Inc.) will become a subsidiary through a third party allocation of new shares as of January 20, 2012.
Pitapat, Inc., launched by 4 university students as "Facematch", became a winner at "Breakthrough Camp 2011 Summer", a service and application developers contest held in summer 2011. Today it has been renamed as "Pitapat", to become effective on 1st May.
"Pitapat" is a match-making service on Facebook that believes people will be closer with other people who are interested in them. Users can communicate with other users using social graphs and event functions on Facebook as easily as in a game.
"This service can be used by PC and iPhone users, and from July 2012 we will provide for Android users," said Takehiro Goda, CEO of Pitapat. "We hope that the service delights users!"

How to play "Pitapat"
Select people you are interested in from your circle of friends on Facebook, friends of friends, or attendees at the same Facebook events. You may enter "Bright", "Hopeful" or "Dim" to select your feelings for each person. Your feeling will not be known to the person directly, but the question "what if the person also has the same feeling..!?" is one of the most interesting on Pitipat!
To people you have selected as "Bright" or "Hopeful", a quiz-like message saying "Someone in these 9 people like you" will be sent, and the person gets a first hint. The service contains similar game-like functions in several places, so users can enjoy Pitipat like a social game - different from existing matching services.
If a person is also interested in you, a matching notice will come. However, on matching, those you have matched with will remain unknown. After exchanging messages 5 times each, the picture and profile of the matching person will pop up.
