Organisations need to focus on their core business without having to worry about the infrastructure it sits on

Enterprises across the North West are being challenged to take cost out of their operation by reviewing their existing IT infrastructure.

The campaign, being undertaken by Runcorn based IT software and services company, Polymorph, is targeting organisations ranging from large multinationals through to SMEs throughout the North West region.

According to the annual TechTarget Survey* 50% of IT professionals in the UK said their IT spending would either decrease or remain static in 2012. Nearly 40% of the same sample said their organisations are recovering slowly from the downturn, and 30% said they were still struggling.

Steve Harris, managing director, Polymorph, stated: "It is now clear that the economy is at best stagnating if not actually in recession. It is no longer an option for organisations to sit tight and hope that the economy will bounce back any time soon. Budgets - if not already under pressure - will begin to feel the heat, as the drive to take cost out of all areas of the enterprise will begin anew,"

With the overwhelming majority of budgets already allocated to just standing still, many IT departments have very little cash with which to introduce innovative cost saving initiatives.
